Job Overview

Patriot Mobile is seeking a motivated Junior Software Engineer with a foundational understanding of software development and a desire to grow within a collaborative team environment. The ideal candidate should have basic experience with C#, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, PostgreSQL, and exposure to Azure hosting. A general understanding of User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) design principles is a plus. The primary responsibilities include assisting with the development, testing, and deployment of .NET-based software solutions under the guidance of senior engineers.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

· Assist in the development and maintenance of web applications using C# and the .NET framework.

· Collaborate with senior engineers to design and optimize database schemas using PostgreSQL or other Azure-compatible databases.

· Support the use of Azure services such as Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, and Azure DevOps for application deployment and management.

· Write clean, maintainable code and perform testing to ensure functionality and quality.

· Learn and apply best practices in software development, coding standards, and documentation.

· Assist in debugging and troubleshooting issues as part of ongoing system maintenance and improvement.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

· Ability to quickly learn, analyze situations, and make decisions which support the mission of Patriot Mobile.

· Basic proficiency in C#, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and PostgreSQL.

· Familiarity with the .NET framework and Web API concepts.

· Understanding of fundamental software engineering principles and UI/UX concepts.

· Good problem-solving and analytical skills.

· Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field from a regionally accredited college.
  • Up to 2 years of relevant experience in software development (including internships, academic projects, or personal projects).
  • Exposure to PostgreSQL, Azure hosting, and .NET development is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.

· Must be able to work in a variety of spaces to include cubicle, counter, and or desk areas.

· Must be able to lift and move items up to 25 pounds.
