Job description

MYDENTALWIG
Advanced Manufacturing. AI-Driven Healthcare. Preventive Innovation.

Building the future of intelligent manufacturing systems across healthcare, semiconductors, and AI infrastructure.

Location: Los Angeles Area, California (On-site)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $140,000โ€“$185,000 annually, depending on experience, plus equity participation through the Companyโ€™s Equity Incentive Plan (Option Pool).

About MYDENTALWIG

MYDENTALWIG is developing a new category of healthcare technology called Ingestion Intelligenceโ„ข.

Our mission is to create the worldโ€™s first platform capable of detecting human ingestion behavior in real time and translating it into predictive metabolic intelligence. We believe one of the greatest missing data layers in healthcare is the inability to objectively measure how people eat before disease develops.

Our first product combines advanced sensing technology, embedded electronics, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing into an entirely new medical technology platform.

This is not an incremental product improvementโ€”it is an opportunity to help create a new category of digital health.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional Biomedical Engineer to lead the development of the sensing hardware powering our Dental Computing Interfaceโ„ข (DCIโ„ข).

You will play a foundational role in designing, prototyping, testing, and refining the sensing technologies that make real-time ingestion detection possible.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving difficult multidisciplinary engineering problems at the intersection of biomedical engineering, embedded systems, sensors, materials science, and product development.

As one of the Companyโ€™s earliest technical hires, you will have significant influence on product architecture, technical decisions, intellectual property development, and the future direction of the platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of biomedical sensing hardware for intraoral applications.
  • Evaluate and select sensing technologies appropriate for ingestion detection.
  • Develop proof-of-concept prototypes and functional engineering models.
  • Collaborate with AI, software, and mechanical engineering teams to integrate sensing hardware into the overall platform.
  • Define hardware performance specifications and testing protocols.
  • Conduct laboratory testing, validation, and performance characterization.
  • Support prototype fabrication and transition toward manufacturability.
  • Work with external suppliers, manufacturers, and engineering partners.
  • Contribute to invention disclosures, patent development, and technical documentation.
  • Support future regulatory submissions through engineering documentation and design controls.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in biomedical engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • Five or more years of experience developing biomedical devices, sensing systems, wearable technologies, implantable devices, or similar medical technologies.
  • Experience with prototype development and product engineering.
  • Strong understanding of sensor technologies, embedded hardware, and biomedical instrumentation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masterโ€™s or Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of MEMS sensors, microelectronics, flexible electronics, or miniaturized sensing systems.
  • Experience with FDA design controls (21 CFR Part 820 or the successor Quality Management System Regulation) and ISO 13485.
  • Familiarity with rapid prototyping, additive manufacturing, or clean-room fabrication processes.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Inventor on issued or pending patents.
  • Startup experience from concept through commercialization.
  • Competitive annual salary: $140,000โ€“$185,000, based on qualifications and experience.
  • Stock option grant under the Companyโ€™s Equity Incentive Plan, subject to Board approval and the applicable Stock Option Agreement.
  • Equity awards are generally subject to a four-year vesting schedule with a one-year cliff.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance (upon implementation of the Companyโ€™s benefits program).
  • 401(k) retirement plan (upon implementation of the Companyโ€™s retirement program).
  • Paid vacation, company holidays, and sick leave in accordance with Company policy and applicable California law.
  • Professional development opportunities, including conferences and continuing education relevant to the role.
  • Opportunity to help build foundational intellectual property and shape a new category of healthcare technology from its earliest stages.

This is a founding engineering position. The successful candidate will help establish the technical foundation of the Company, influence core technology decisions, contribute to the Companyโ€™s intellectual property portfolio, and participate in building the engineering organization as MYDENTALWIG grows.

We are looking for individuals who are motivated not only by solving difficult technical problems, but also by the opportunity to build an enduring company with the potential for significant longโ€‘term impact.

Why Join MYDENTALWIG?

We are building technology that does not yet exist.

This role offers the opportunity to help define an entirely new sensing platform with applications in metabolic health, preventive healthcare, artificial intelligence, and digital therapeutics.

You wonโ€™t be joining a mature organization to optimize an existing productโ€”youโ€™ll be helping invent one.

If youโ€™re excited by difficult engineering challenges, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the opportunity to build technology that could reshape how healthcare understands human behavior, weโ€™d like to hear from you.
