Position Summary
This paraprofessional position performs work under general supervision of the Director of Charitable Gaming and is responsible for managing the State of Wisconsin charitable bingo program. The incumbent reviews bingo applications and independently determines qualifications for charitable licensing and manages the application process for bingo license renewals. This position requires general knowledge of applicable statute and administrative code related to bingo & charitable gaming and is considered the subject matter expert for the bingo program. The incumbent communicates with department staff, organizations, legislators and division leadership concerning all rules and regulations regarding charitable bingo in Wisconsin.

Salary Information
This Bingo Program Specialist (Gaming License Program Associate) is assigned to pay schedule/range 02-13. The starting pay rate will be $26.61 per hour, plus excellent benefits . A 12-month probation may be required.
Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan at the time of hire.
Job Details
Due to the nature of the position, DOA will conduct background checks on applicants prior to selection. DOA does not sponsor work visas and is not an eligible OPT (Optional Practical Training) employer for F-1 international students. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form.
All employees are expected to live and work in Wisconsin. This position will have the option of working remotely upon agreement of the supervisor but will be asked to come into the office periodically. This schedule may change based on operational needs and organizational requirements. If you are invited to interview, this aspect can be discussed more in the interview process.
Qualifications
It is critically important that your application materials clearly describe your experience related to the stated job qualifications.
Qualified applicants will have each of the following:

• Experience reviewing & interpreting Wisconsin statutes.
• Experience with administration of Wisconsin licensing processes.
• Experience serving in a customer service role communicating with the public on a regular basis and explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

In addition to the above, well-qualified applicants will also have at least one of the following:

• Regulatory experience reviewing application materials and making determinations on qualifying for a license based on statutory requirements.
• Experience reviewing simple financial statements for accuracy.
• Experience communicating with the public regarding Wisconsin statutes and administrative code.
