Job Title: Billing Representative – Compounding PharmacyPosition Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Billing Representative to join our growing compounding pharmacy team. The Billing Representative is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of pharmacy claims, patient billing, insurance verification, payment posting, and account follow-up. This position works closely with patients, insurance companies, providers, and internal pharmacy staff to resolve billing issues and provide an exceptional customer experience while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Generate and review patient invoices and payment statements.
  • Explain billing statements, payment options, and financial responsibilities to patients in a professional and compassionate manner.
  • Maintain accurate billing documentation and account notes within the pharmacy management system.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, customer service representatives, and prescribers to ensure timely claim resolution.
  • Monitor outstanding accounts receivable and assist with collection efforts when appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare regulations, payer guidelines, and company policies.
  • Assist with month-end reconciliation and billing reports as assigned.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance billing accuracy and reimbursement.
QualificationsRequired
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years of medical, pharmacy, or healthcare billing experience.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
Preferred
  • Experience in a compounding pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, or retail pharmacy billing..
  • Familiarity with pharmacy management software and billing platforms.
  • Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or other billing certification is a plus.
