We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Billing Coordinator to join our Billing Department.
This critical role supports the timely and accurate processing of medical documentation to ensure seamless payroll, authorization, and billing operations. The Billing Coordinator works closely with Care Team members, Home Health Aides, Nurses, and multiple internal departments to obtain complete documentation, resolve discrepancies, and help maintain compliance with payer and organizational requirements.
The ideal candidate is dependable, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and efficiency are essential. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strict deadlines. #INDNM/ABQ
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Review, audit, and process medical documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance prior to billing.
  • Collaborate with Care Team members, Home Health Aides, Nurses, and other departments to obtain missing documentation and resolve charting discrepancies.
  • Maintain established payroll and billing deadlines by ensuring documentation is received and processed accurately and on time.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for billing while supporting clean claims and minimizing delays in reimbursement.
  • Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems, PDF editing software, Microsoft Office applications, and Excel spreadsheets to manage documentation efficiently.
  • Identify documentation issues, troubleshoot problems proactively, and escalate concerns when appropriate.
  • Maintain organized electronic records while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Communicate professionally with internal teams to support timely resolution of documentation and billing concerns.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall department performance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; healthcare administration or related experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in healthcare billing, medical records, home health, or administrative support preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Experience of working with electronic medical record (EMR) systems is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify inconsistencies and maintain data accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
