Job description

Diesel Mechanics & Road Mechanics needed!

If it’s big, loud and covered in dust – you probably know how to fix it. We’re looking for Heavy Duty Mechanics who aren't afraid to tear into engines, track down tough problems and keep hard-working equipment moving. Whether in the field or in the shop, your expertise keeps the job moving – and we value that. Servicing the entire Southern Maine area, we continue to grow into a large operation with various avenues for growth while remaining a family-owned company where the owners are deeply involved with the daily operations. Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and structural systems on heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, dozers, haul trucks, graders, etc.
  • Repair and replace defective parts, such as bearings, gears, and hydraulic components
  • Conduct repairs and preventative maintenance of trucks and equipment either at the shop or on location of a breakdown
  • Use diagnostic tools and software to identify issues and determine repair procedures
  • Respond to field service calls and perform repairs on-site as needed
  • Operate heavy equipment to test repairs and ensure functionality
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections according to manufacturer and company standards
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used and labor time
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and equipment operators to identify equipment problems
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all company and regulatory safety standards
  • Qualified candidates must have excellent mechanical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with brakes, tires, and other maintenance services
  • Must be familiar with both diesel and gas engines
  • A minimum of three years of experience
  • A valid driver's license in good standing (CDL and Inspection License are not required but would be a plus)
  • Must have own tools and a positive attitude

Qualifications

  • Qualified candidates must have excellent mechanical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with brakes, tires, and other maintenance services
  • Must be familiar with both diesel and gas engines
  • A minimum of three years of experience
  • A valid driver's license in good standing (CDL and Inspection License are not required but would be a plus)
  • Must have own tools and a positive attitude
