BI Engineer
Job Description
Bally's Intralot is a leading provider of lottery, iLottery, sports betting, and digital gaming solutions, serving regulated gaming organizations across the United States and international markets. By combining Bally's expertise in digital gaming and player engagement with INTRALOT's decades of experience delivering secure lottery technology and operations, Bally's Intralot offers a comprehensive portfolio of innovative gaming solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data integration processes to support business intelligence, analytics, and reporting initiatives
  • Develop and optimize ETL/ELT workflows and data transformation pipelines using modern data platforms including Databricks and cloud-based data services
  • Design, implement, and maintain data models and curated data layers to support business intelligence tools such as Tableau
  • Ingest, integrate, and manage data from multiple sources including internal systems, external vendors, APIs, and structured and unstructured data within a Data Lake architecture
  • Support the development and maintenance of enterprise data platforms including data warehouses, data lakes, and analytics environments
  • Collaborate with BI analysts, data scientists, developers, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver scalable data solutions
  • Develop and maintain datasets and data services that enable reporting, dashboards, and advanced analytics
  • Monitor data pipelines, troubleshoot performance issues, and implement improvements to ensure reliability, scalability, and data quality
  • Implement data governance, data validation, and data quality controls to ensure accuracy and consistency of enterprise data
  • Utilize internal and external AI tools to support data exploration, automation, and advanced analytics capabilities
  • Document data architecture, data flows, standards, and processes to support maintainability, governance, and knowledge sharing
  • Support deployment and operations of data solutions in cloud environments
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of modern data engineering practices, data architecture, and business intelligence frameworks
  • Strong experience with SQL and relational database systems such as MySQL or similar platforms
  • Experience designing and developing scalable data pipelines using Databricks or similar distributed data processing platforms
  • Experience working with cloud data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform and related data services
  • Experience implementing and managing Data Lake or Lakehouse architectures
  • Experience building and supporting dashboards and analytics solutions using Tableau or similar business intelligence tools
  • Understanding of ETL/ELT frameworks, data transformation processes, and workflow orchestration tools
  • Experience working with structured and unstructured data and large-scale datasets
  • Familiarity with data modeling techniques including dimensional modeling for analytics and reporting
  • Understanding of data governance, data security, and data quality management practices
  • Experience using internal and external AI or machine learning tools to support data analysis, automation, or enrichment
  • Ability to analyze complex data problems and develop scalable and efficient solutions
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member in a cross-functional environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Education, Training, and Experience
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field; or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • 2-4 years experience in data engineering, business intelligence development, analytics engineering, or related data-focused roles
  • At least 2 years experience working with SQL-based databases such as MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar relational database platforms
  • Experience working with Databricks, Spark-based data processing, or similar modern data engineering platforms preferred
  • Experience developing dashboards and analytics solutions using Tableau or similar BI tools preferred
  • Experience working with cloud data environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and data storage platforms such as data lakes or cloud data warehouses preferred
