Job description

The Materials and Processes (M&P) team is responsible for material testing and qualification, testing of process control coupons, fabrication and repair processes, technical supplier management, disposition of nonconforming parts, and destructive testing of composite parts. M&P supports all the different systems of the aircraft including batteries, motors, landing gear, structures, flight controls, electrical systems and finishing. Testing is done to inspect raw material, verify production processes, qualify new suppliers, improve processes, and develop new products.
The M&P Technician will be responsible for carrying out fabrication, testing and reporting in support of the above mention activities.
How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:
  • Manufacture and test panels for thermal runaway protection
  • Qualification testing of new materials
  • Machine and test process control coupons for composite parts
  • Fabricate and test specimens for receiving inspection of raw materials
  • Destructive testing of composite parts. Cut parts, take cross sections, machine specimens, and test
  • Testing to improve existing processes
  • Testing for R&D of new material and new processes

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Detail oriented and well organized
  • Must have good hands-on skills and experience
  • Familiarity with mechanical testing

Above and Beyond Qualifications:
  • Experience building and testing composite parts with either wet-layup, autoclave cures, or oven cures
  • Experience using test equipment such as a load frames, analytical lab equipment, and microscopes
  • Experience using manual or CNC machining equipment
