Website Specialist (Sepulveda Development)

This is a hybrid position based in Culver City, CA. Candidates must be willing to travel on-site 2-3 days per month. 

The pay range for this role is between $37.29-$42.89 hourly.

Summary

As the Website Specialist, you will serve as the primary technical and operational lead for the agency’s web properties, including the public website(s) and intranet. You will manage and implement timely website content updates in WordPress while maintaining website functionality, performance, and security. You will apply SEO best practices and perform analytics tracking and reporting, using data insights to drive ongoing website improvements. In this role, you will troubleshoot issues, translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders, collaborate with cross functional teams, and independently manage complex web systems.

Primary Duties

Web Development & Maintenance

  • Working in collaboration with the Senior Manager of Visual Design and Branding, this role supports ongoing web strategy and ensures effective execution of web initiatives.
  • Builds, edits, and publishes pages within WordPress using the page builder Elementor, ensuring that they follow brand standards, accessibility guidelines and visual quality assurance.
  • Assesses incoming website requests, clarifies requirements with stakeholders as needed, and translates their needs into effective web solutions aligned with site structure and best practices.
  • Performs regular maintenance tasks, including functionality testing, backups, WordPress updates, and plugin updates, monitoring the site to identify and correct any issues that may arise after updates.
  • Resolves technical issues independently and coordinates with IT on hosting and server-related matters as needed.
  • Translates wireframes and visual mockups into functional web pages, ensuring responsive design and UX/UI standards.
  • Applies best practices for site security, speed, and reliability.
  • Maintains the SharePoint intranet, building and editing pages and web parts that meet departmental needs.

Performance, SEO & Analytics

  • Applies SEO best practices when publishing or updating content, including title tags, meta descriptions, URL structure, and internal linking.
  • Collaborates with the marketing team to optimize content visibility and improve search performance.
  • Uses analytics tools to monitor website performance, track KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement.

Compliance & Security

  • Builds HIPAA-compliant web forms (using the Jotform web application).
  • Follows established security standards across web properties, working closely with IT to maintain compliance and data protection.

Collaboration & Support

  • Partners with Senior Manager of Visual Design & Branding to prioritize initiatives and align web efforts with brand and organizational goals.
  • Works directly with internal stakeholders to manage web content updates and expand functionality.
  • Collaborates with marketing and social media teams to support campaigns and optimize content performance.
  • Works with internal departments to identify their needs and deliver useful solutions.

Position Requirements

  • High School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience managing, customizing, and maintaining WordPress sites and webpages.
  • Strong proficiency with Elementor or similar WordPress page builders.
  • Minimum 1 year experience using browser debugging tools such as Chrome Inspector. 
  • Proficiency in HTML and CSS for troubleshooting layout and styling issues; JavaScript a plus.
  • Understanding of Microsoft SharePoint, including how to create new pages, web parts, and functional site architecture.
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices for web content and experience using SEO plugins such as RankMath.
  • Strong understanding of and experience with Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console, and Google Workspace to monitor website performance and track KPIs.
  • Understanding of website architecture, responsive design, UX/UI principles, and aesthetics.
  • Ability to translate wireframes and visual mockups into functional web pages; experience with Photoshop, Figma, Canva, or other design tools a plus.
  • Resourceful, proactive problem-solver with strong technical skills and excellent communication.
  • Quick learner, capable of adapting to new systems and technologies independently.
  • Collaborative team player, comfortable supporting multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented. Ability to proficiently use project management software such as Monday.com to track project deadlines.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to engage any individual regardless of background.
