Job description

Discord's Social team sits at the intersection of culture, community, and product - and we're looking for a social-savvy storyteller to help bring the Discord brand to life across our owned channels. On any given day, you might be drafting copy for an upcoming product launch, collaborating with our creative team on platform-native assets, diving into performance data to shape our next campaign strategy, or staying ahead of the latest trends to keep Discord's voice feeling fresh and relevant. If you love the craft of social and want to make an impact at scale, this role is for you. This role reports to the Senior Social Media Manager.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Own and lead the day-to-day operations of Discord's social content calendar, including copywriting, asset coordination, scheduling, and posting to @discord owned channels with minimal error
  • Develop and execute social media activations to support product launches, GTMs, and broader business goals - with a strong point of view on platform-right, channel-right content
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Product, Creative, and more) to coordinate and deliver content for product GTMs with minimal guidance
  • Submit, refine, and manage creative briefs and asset requests to ensure the creative team delivers on-brand, platform-optimized content
  • Track and analyze social media KPIs to measure campaign success, surface key takeaways, and translate data insights into actionable recommendations
  • Stay on top of content trends and develop hypotheses on how Discord's users and community will respond to content - then use that knowledge to inform strategy
  • Begin to source and manage contractors or freelancers to support asset production and meet campaign goals as needed

What you should have

  • 3-5 years of social media experience, ideally at a consumer tech, gaming, or entertainment brand
  • Hands-on experience using Discord as a product and a genuine understanding of how its communities operate
  • A passion for Internet culture - you stay tapped into what's trending across platforms and have a genuine instinct for what people care about and engage with online
  • Working knowledge of the gaming landscape - you're familiar with the culture, key players, trends, and how gaming audiences engage with content online
  • Deep understanding of major social platforms (X/Twitter, Reddit, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Discord etc.) and what makes content perform on each
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional content projects with multiple stakeholders and delivering on deadline
  • Comfort using data to track performance and synthesize insights - you know what the numbers mean and can communicate them clearly

Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma counties). Relocation assistance may be available.
