As a Lead Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Services Technician, you will be responsible for leading complex electrical and mechanical projects. We are looking for experienced field professionals who thrive in mission-critical environments as hands-on technical leaders with strong troubleshooting skills, commissioning experience, and the ability to lead field teams safely and efficiently on projects located throughout United States. This is up to a 100% travel role across the United States.

Core Responsibilities

  • Leading crews of 5–40+ technicians.
  • Supervising subcontractors and multiple trades.
  • Planning daily work activities and project execution.
  • Managing customer expectations and field communications.
  • Training and mentoring junior technicians.
  • Maintaining a strong safety culture.
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Electrical troubleshooting using multimeters, clamp meters, insulation resistance. testers (Megger), power quality analyzers, and thermal imaging equipment.

Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs.

Core Experience

  • 5+ years of leading teams or supervising experience.
  • 6+ years of electrical proficiency relating to medium to high voltage electrical systems and components is required.
  • 6+ years of experience in utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), mission-critical electrical infrastructure, hyperscale and enterprise data centers, and UPS systems are required.
  • Electrical and mechanical construction and commissioning.
  • Refrigeration system troubleshooting experience with CRAH and CRAC equipment and commercial/industrial HVAC systems.
  • Military experience with backgrounds in electrical power generation, industrial maintenance, nuclear operations, avionics, telecommunications, power distribution, shipboard electrical systems, HVAC, or other mission-critical technical disciplines.
  • Candidates should possess one or more of the following certifications:
    • OSHA 30 (OSHA 10 minimum)
    • NFPA 70E
    • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
    • EPA Section 608 Universal Certification
    • NETA Certification
    • NICET Certification
    • Project Management Professional (PMP)
    • Electrical Journeyman License
    • Electrical Contractor License (where applicable)
    • State Electrical License

Physical/Work Environment:

  • Candidates must have a valid driver's license for at least a year.
  • Work possible rotating shifts (100% travel is required for this position).
  • Prolong standing and working in ergonomic challenging positions.
  • Varied climates based upon locations.

Compensation: $45.00-$60.00 hourly/DOE and Per Diem
