Job Overview:

This position is responsible for creating and coordinating quality related Campaigns/Holds in plant, reporting as well as the information flow between Quality, Development, Production, Purchasing, Marketing, Service & Parts, Sales Organizations, Suppliers and Mercedes Benz USA. 

Responsibilities:

This role ensures the highest level of customer protection by maintaining strict control over vehicle quality status and preventing any non-conforming units from leaving the plant. Through proactive coordination, real-time monitoring, and disciplined execution of actions and holds, it guarantees that only fully compliant vehicles are released to the customer. 

  • Act as a liaison between the plant and the Marshalling Yard (MBUSA) 

  • Conduct weekly communications between MBV plant, sister plants and MBUSA 

  • Coordinate campaign management activities with MBV to ensure timely availability of vans to customer 

  • Independently coordinate and organize third party resources to ensure all actions are complete for units before release to MBUSA 

  • Independently leads the kick off meeting for all activities (incl. rework) 

  • Monitor Production Instruction and place vehicles on hold as needed 

  • Monitor all actions and holds in plant 

  • Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings 

  • Receive action request, manage reports through MB systems and generate Campaign/Holds in Systems 

  • Run daily reports to ensure vehicles are transparently tracked throughout the organization 

  • Will perform other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management or related area or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Able to perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Specialized knowledge and skill requirements to perform this job including certifications, licenses, etc. 

    • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in the automotive field 

    • Experience with coordination of time-critical processes 

    • Excellent communication, written and reporting skills 

    • Experience in using Microsoft Office Programs (Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Access Database) 

    • Experience in MB systems is a plus

MBV Charleston was selected as the first plant in this network to produce the all-new eSprinter, beginning in 2024. Since 2006, Sprinter and Metris vans have been assembled in North Charleston and delivered to destinations across the United States.
