Alphanumeric is hiring a Bench Scientist - Biology to join our client of over 20 years, a global leader dedicated to advancing innovative medicines that improve patients' lives.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Bench Scientist with a strong background in cell and molecular biology to support drug discovery research. The successful candidate will independently execute laboratory experiments, analyze data, troubleshoot technical challenges, and collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams to advance scientific programs.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career scientist (2-5 years of laboratory experience) who enjoys hands-on bench work in a fast-paced research environment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Perform cell-based and molecular biology experiments with minimal supervision.
  • Design, optimize, and execute experimental protocols to support research objectives.
  • Conduct in vitro cellular and drug response assays.
  • Analyze, interpret, and communicate experimental results to project teams.
  • Troubleshoot experiments and implement solutions to technical challenges.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and documentation in accordance with scientific and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional scientists to support ongoing research initiatives.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related life sciences discipline with relevant laboratory experience
    OR
  • Master's degree or PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.
  • 2-5 years of hands-on bench laboratory experience preferred.

Required Technical Skills

Experience with several of the following:

  • Mammalian cell culture
  • Cell biology techniques
  • Molecular biology methods
  • In vitro cellular assays
  • Drug response assays
  • Experimental design and protocol optimization
  • Scientific data analysis and interpretation
  • Laboratory troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) documentation and record keeping
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting oncology, cancer biology, or drug discovery research.
  • Experience working in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology research environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present scientific findings to cross-functional teams.
