Alphanumeric is hiring a Bench Scientist I to join our long-standing pharmaceutical client inย King of Prussia (Upper Merion), PA. For more than 20 years, we've partnered with this global leader in developing life-changing medicines that improve the health and lives of patients around the world.

If you're an early-career scientist with hands-on analytical laboratory experience and a passion for quality, this is an excellent opportunity to work in a GMP-regulated biopharmaceutical laboratory using state-of-the-art analytical technologies while expanding your technical expertise.

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour

What You'll Do:
As a Bench Scientist, you'll support analytical testing of biopharmaceutical drug products and drug substances for release, stability, and in-process testing while ensuring compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities include:
  • Perform analytical testing on drug substance, drug product, stability, and in-process samples.
  • Execute physical, chemical, and biochemical testing using a variety of analytical techniques.
  • Prepare laboratory samples, standards, reagents, and solutions.
  • Manage sample receipt, tracking, documentation, and lifecycle activities.
  • Review, analyze, and approve laboratory data.
  • Investigate laboratory deviations and author technical investigations.
  • Write, review, and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Support electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) development and validation activities.
  • Perform routine GMP laboratory activities, including instrument calibration, preventive maintenance, audits, and equipment documentation.
  • Support analytical method transfer, instrument lifecycle management, and validation projects.
  • Maintain laboratory organization through 5S, equipment maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or another life science discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience.
  • Experience working in a regulated laboratory environment.
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Experience:
Experience with one or more of the following analytical techniques:
  • HPLC/UPLC.
  • ELISA.
  • qPCR.
  • CGE.
  • cIEF.
  • SEC.
  • SPR.
  • Protein Concentration assays.
  • Cell-based Bioassays.
Experience with laboratory systems such as:
  • SAP/ERP.
  • Empower.
  • LES or LES-EM.
  • Hamilton automated liquid handling.
  • WebStatistica.
  • Analytical instrument software (SoftMax Pro or similar).
Knowledge of:
  • Current GMP (cGMP).
  • FDA regulations.
  • ICH Guidelines.
  • USP/EP/JP requirements.
  • Data Integrity principles.
