Position Overview:ย We are looking for a Maintenanceย Technicianย to join ourย Facilitiesย Management department.ย In this role,ย you'llย conduct routine groundskeeping, janitorial, painting, preventive maintenance, and routine/emergency maintenance at The Rise on Madison Apartments.
Ourย Facilitiesย Management team is essential to Bellwether's mission to create,ย maintain, and strengthen our communities and provide vital housing to those qualifying under the Low-Income Tax Credit Program.ย
Building Information: The Rise on Madison Apartments are located in First Hill and have 250 units. This is a 17-story condominium that includes 5 floors of permanent supportive housing at the Blake House, managed by Plymouth Housing, two commercial spaces, and 12 residential floors comprising the Rise on Madison, which is owned and operated by Bellwether Housing.
Work Schedule:ย On-site, Saturday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Sunday, 8:30 am-5:00 pm. The final schedule will beย determinedย by the supervisor.ย
Your Impact:ย ย
- Conduct routine groundskeeping, janitorial, painting, preventative, routine, and emergency maintenance.ย ย ย
- Meet regularly with the Property Manager to review work orders, unit turn schedules, and general property needs. Make recommendations and inform of needed repairs.ย ย ย ย
- Apply fair housing guidelines when entering occupied units and interacting with residents.ย ย ย
- Maintain tenant and staff confidentiality.ย ย ย
- Prepare vacant units for re-rentingย in a timely manner. Complete cleaning, maintenance, andย coordinateย with vendor or other agency staff.ย ย ย
- Review maintenance requests, work order logs, and company policies and procedures.ย ย ย
- Maintain records in keeping with company, city, state, and federal guidelines.ย ย ย
- Be the point of contact for tenant emergency needs when appropriate.ย ย ย
- Attend scheduled staff meetings and training/conferences when assigned.ย ย ย ย
- Inform Maintenance and Site Managers of needed maintenance supplies and equipment per instruction. Keep storage areas clean and organized.ย ย ย
- Diagnoses and performs minor or routine maintenance and repairs within homes and throughout the property. Ensure disposal of trash and other discarded items after each assigned work order.ย ย ย
- Work with residential staff and outside contractors in a respectful and courteous manner.ย ย ย
- Ensure facilities are in proper working order and safe by inspecting plumbing, electrical, and other mechanical systems.ย ย ย
- Document actions taken and parts needed orย requiredย to complete assigned work orders.ย ย ย ย
- Provide suggestions to management and support the implementation of process improvement and efficiency measures.ย ย ย
- Represent Bellwether Housing in your own work, and in the work you manage.ย ย ย
- Perform pest management duties as needed.ย ย ย
- Ability toย workย a non-traditional schedule as required by the property's needs.ย ย ย
- Contribute andย participateย as a site team member.ย ย ย ย
- Performs anyย additionalย duties assigned by the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor and Property Manager.ย ย ย ย
- Other duties as assigned.ย
Who You Are:ย ย
- Possess andย maintainย a valid Washington State driverโs license, theย appropriate amountย of automobile insurance, and a safe driving record, and/or ability toย possessย a valid license within 90-days of employment.ย ย ย
- Able to travel and work at various Bellwether properties as needed.ย ย
- Experience with computers and mobile devices.ย ย
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.ย ย
- Working knowledge and adherence to company policies and procedures.ย ย
- Ability to work onย callย as needed.ย ย
- Legible handwriting and basic math skills.ย ย
- Ability to cope with and defuse situations involving angry or difficult people.ย ย

- A high school diploma or equivalentย work experienceย isย required.ย ย
- At least one year of experience in the property management industry orย a directly relatedย field.ย
