Agape Behavioral Healthcare is currently seeking a Per-Diem Behavioral Health technician for our Detox Facility in Port St. Lucie, FL!


Schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday 7:00am-7:00pm


The Behavioral Health Technician is a member of the multidisciplinary team, who is directly involved in providing quality care for clients. The Behavioral Health Technician is responsible for providing structure and support services for the clinical team treating adults with substance abuse diagnosis and/or co-occurring disorders. All responsibilities will fall under the core functions of providing client supervision and ensuring client participation in services. Work is performed in accordance with established regulations, policies and procedures, and State and Federal Regulations, however employees are expected to exercise significant initiative and independent judgment in carrying out their duties.



Specific Areas of Responsibility:

  • Must be able to learn company policies and procedures related to position quickly and effectively upon hire and when company policies and procedures are updated.
  • Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility to changes in the work environment.
  • Follows Infection Control Guidelines at all times.
  • Completes and forwards copy of Incident Reports and any other safety / risk issues to the BHT Supervisor when involved or when witnessing and incident or safety/ risk issue.
  • Monitors and maintains a safe, therapeutic environment for staff and clients.
  • Assists in emergency situations as directed.
  • Conducts Waived tests as required, i.e., Urine Drug Screens, Dip Sticks, Breathalyzer, etc. (following Infectious Control protocols when handling specimens).
  • Responsible for ensuring clientโ€™s rules and responsibilities are being followed throughout the day. Reports noncompliance to Supervisor.
  • Direct and monitor clients.
  • Responsible for adherence to all policies and procedures of the agency.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
  • Completes intakes when required.
  • Notifies the Director of Operations in the event of any problems or issues with clients or staff members.
  • Understands and maintains confidentiality of client information and records.
  • Maintains supply list for assigned buildings (as requested).
  • Maintains clean environment for clients during shifts.
  • Must continuously maintain compliance with the agencyโ€™s Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics to ensure all ethical and legal requirements are adhered to at all times.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures as outlines in the Employee Handbook, personnel file and internal communications.
  • Maintain agencyโ€™s Code of Conduct, Laws of Confidentiality, HIPAA rules and regulations, and maintains appropriate boundaries with clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of facility and housekeeping department policies and procedures.Ability to use universal precautions when cleaning specific areas.
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers.
  • Ability to work independently in assigned areas.
  • One (1) year of experience as BHT in a health care facility.
