Our client is a not-for-profit healthcare system with 225+ licensed acute care beds, fully accredited by the Center for Improvement in Healthcare Quality (CIHQ). It was recently voted 5th most beautiful hospital in the nation nestled among the foothills of the Sierra Nevada in North Carson City and only a short drive away from world-famous Lake Tahoe & Reno. They serve a population of over 250,000 and feature two hospitals, two urgent cares, an emergent care center, outpatient services and a provider network with 19 regional locations.
They are looking for a seasoned professional to help mentor their new leadership while they transition.
Summary:

Provides overall strategic direction for Inpatient BHS services
Participates in the development of hospital and departmental policies and procedures
Monitors staff performance and takes necessary steps to ensure exceptional service is provided
Works cooperatively with the Medical Director to maintain the highest level of service for patients
Fosters communication among individuals throughout the organization maintaining a positive, cooperative, and collaborative approach
Ensures that staffing is sufficient and care is assigned to accommodate patient demand
Prepares budgets which are timely, accurate, and maximize cost effectiveness for all services provided
Develops business plans for new services in support of best practices and the hospitals mission
Attends required hospital meetings.
Serves on hospital committees as assigned
Designs and implements an effective organizational structure
Evaluates the effectiveness of offered services and initiates change as appropriate
Maintains membership in professional organizations/committees
Performs other duties as assigned
Required:

  • Five years of progressive leadership responsibility in an acute or outpatient services setting.
  • A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an acute care facility practicing as a BHS Social Worker, BHS Nurse, Psychologist, Psychiatrist, or Counselor.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada
  • Bachelor's Degree in nursing or behavioral health
  • Within 6 months of hire must complete the Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training course.

Preferred:

  • Masters degree in nursing, behavioral health or other related field.
  • Nursing leadership certification, such as Nursing Executive or Nursing Executive Advanced.
