The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
Job Overview:
The Bed Board Controller is responsible to place patients in the appropriate bed and maintain the accuracy of the bed board system. The Bed Board Controller is responsible to track bed assignments through bed tracking system and to ensure timely and appropriate movement of patients within the hospital.
Qualifications:
Required:
  • High School Diploma required

Preferred:
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Previous hospital experience in an acute care facility preferred
  • Experience with bed placement processes and systems preferred
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Medical terminology knowledge and computer skills

Scheduling Requirements:
  • Per Diem Day

Essential Functions:
  • The Bed Board Controller is expected to complete all admissions, transfers, discharges and other service level changes in a timely manner and work closely with clinical staff to obtain correct and timely orders and ensure accuracy of patient's level of care
  • The Bed Board Controller is also responsible for verifying and reconciling the hospital census and distribution of the census to the appropriate clinical and operational staff.
  • The coordinator works in conjunction with the clinical leadership in the facilitation of continuous patient throughput from all points of entry and internal transfer
  • The Bed Board Controller performs all job duties in a professional and courteous manner and demonstrates positive and appropriate skills with internal and external customers
  • The Bed Board Controller must possess the ability to work with others and maintains a safe environment for patients, staff physicians and visitors
