WHO WE ARE

Since 1922, Westchester Country Club is an exclusive family-oriented private club located in Rye, New York. Westchester Country Club is among the top country clubs and proudly designated as a Platinum Club of America, ranking #29 out of the top 150 country clubs in the United States.

With over 1,600 members, Westchester Country Club offers world-class facilities including the main club property and the beach club on the Long Island Sound. Club members enjoy two championship golf courses and a 9-hole executive course, comprehensive tennis and squash facilities, various dining options, an on-site fitness facility and indoor pool, and other specialized amenities. Westchester Country Club also has two large banquet rooms, conference facilities, member apartments, and guest accommodations.

WHAT YOUโ€™LL DO

The Seasonal Lifeguard is responsible for providing all Members and guests with a safe environment when utilizing the Beach Clubโ€™s pool and beach areas. This will be accomplished through the vigilant supervision of these areas, active enforcement of safety and Club policies, and responding appropriately in any and all emergency situations. The Lifeguard plays an integral role in assuring all Beach Club Aquatics areas remain safe for all patrons.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

The Lifeguard must complete all tasks and assignments assigned by the Beach Club Manager and/or Aquatics Supervisors, including but not limited to:

  • Assist with aquatic related facility tasks, such as pool and beach opening and closing procedures, pool cleanliness, pool office and first aid rotations
  • Perform vigilant surveillance and supervision of pool and beach areas, assuring all Members and guests are adhering to proper safety protocols
  • Perform mandatory daily swim and in-service training
  • Respond to any and all emergency situations in quick and appropriate manner, adhering to safety and rescue protocols
  • Enforce safety and Club policies in pool and beach areas
  • Valid Lifeguarding certifications
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certifications
  • Valid Waterfront certifications
  • Must be 15 years of age or older to work at pool, and 16 years of age or older to work on beachfront
  • Prior Lifeguarding experience preferred
  • Must have ability to use rescue equipment properly
  • Must have excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with fellow team members, management team, Members and guests
  • Must be able to work a variable schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Must present professional appearance and attitude at all times, maintaining a high level of member service
  • Must have ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions
  • Must have ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation
  • Must adhere to all WCC guidelines, policies and procedures

PAY RANGE

$17.00 - $23.00 hourly compensation, commensurate with experience
