Job Summary: Assembler 1, General - Covington, GA
About the Role
Join our dynamic team in Covington, GA as an Assembler 1, General. This is a contractor position in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You'll play a critical role in assembling, inspecting, and moving materials to support efficient production. We are looking for reliable, detail-oriented individuals who are comfortable with physical tasks and thrive in a team setting.
Responsibilities
- Operate assembly line equipment and perform routine production tasks
- Move pallets and materials within the work area using handcarts and manual handling
- Inspect, sort, and record quality of materials and finished goods
- Maintain accurate quality records and adhere to documentation practices
- Read rulers and perform basic math calculations for precise assembly work
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality guidelines strictly
- Communicate effectively with team leads, supervisors, and co-workers
- Work 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with potential overtime as requested
- Adapt to environmental conditions (hot summers, cold winters, moderate to loud noise)
- Perform physical activities such as lifting up to 50 lbs, frequent standing, stooping, and repetitive hand motions
Required Skills and Experience
- At least one continuous year of experience in warehouse, manufacturing, or quality roles
- Proven track record in kitting or similar department
- Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English
- Basic math and general computer skills
- Effective communication and documentation skills
- Physically able to meet job demands
- Must be able to work scheduled overtime
- Must not have previously worked at BD/Bard
- Relatives not permitted to work together in this department
Preferred Skills
