To thrive as a BCBA in a school setting, you need expertise in applied behavior analysis (ABA), data-driven assessment, and intervention design, along with a master's degree and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification. POSITION OVERVIEW
The BCBA - Caregiver Training Specialist is responsible for delivering high-quality, medically necessary caregiver training services (CPT 97156/97158). This role partners with each client's supervising BCBA to ensure caregivers are effectively trained to implement, generalize, and maintain treatment gains across home, school, and community settings.
This position maintains a caseload of caregivers rather than direct client therapy and focuses on building caregiver competency, consistency, and engagement in treatment. The BCBA - Caregiver Training Specialist collaborates with the supervising BCBA and is responsible for executing caregiver training components of the treatment plan, while final clinical oversight and program design remain with the supervising BCBA.
This role is critical to ensuring treatment success beyond direct therapy by increasing caregiver competence, confidence, and active participation in treatment implementation.
