Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Battery Engineer to lead the design, development, testing, and optimization of advanced battery systems. This role will play a critical part in driving innovation across energy storage technologies, supporting product development from concept through production, and ensuring performance, safety, and reliability standards are met. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in battery chemistry, cell and pack design, and cross-functional collaboration.

This position offers relocation assistance.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, development, and validation of battery cells, modules, and packs for [EV, energy storage, consumer electronics, aerospace, or industrial applications].
  • Develop battery performance models including electrical, thermal, and aging behavior.
  • Oversee battery testing programs including cycle life, abuse testing, thermal performance, and safety compliance.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to integrate battery systems into products.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for battery performance, reliability, or safety issues.
  • Support Battery Management System (BMS) development including SOC/SOH estimation and protection strategies.
  • Evaluate and select battery materials, suppliers, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations (UL, IEC, UN38.3, SAE, ISO, etc.).
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior engineers.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to cost reduction, energy density, cycle life, and manufacturability.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, test reports, and design reviews.
