Our Power System Studies Engineer is part of our team of subject matter experts, a highly specialized group focused on electrical power system studies and in-depth problem-solving for design modification challenges. This team supports a variety of dynamic projects across the company, collaborating with clients in industries such as Nuclear Services, Federal Services, Energy (fossil, renewables, and industrial), Power Delivery, Transmission, and Data Centers. This group offers diverse project scopes, broad industry exposure, and numerous learning opportunities. We are seeking skilled engineers at all experience levels, from mid-level professionals to seasoned principal engineers. This position can be based out of our Headquarters in Kennesaw, GA (Suburb of Atlanta), Naperville, IL, or FT Worth, TX office locations.

Responsibilities
Imagine a day where you're designing innovative power systems, collaborating with engineers to solve complex challenges, and providing expert guidance that drives impactful solutions for industries and communities alike.   • Electrical Studies & Design: Develop electrical studies and design recommendations covering small to large scale power systems for generation, manufacturing, data centers or similar facilities. Provide recommendations based on expertise in power systems equipment and results of systems studies
  • Quality Assurance: Perform quality reviews for calculations, studies/evaluations, software models, designs, drawings, and data prepared by other engineers or subcontractors. Maintain quality, schedule, and budget for assigned tasks with minimal supervision
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Direct and oversee routine and advanced technical work performed by others on assigned projects. Provide mentorship to junior engineers using obtained engineering knowledge #LI-SH7

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • MS in a relevant topic of electrical engineering is preferred
  • Experience working in the nuclear power industry is preferred
  • Maintains an active PE license or planning to obtain in near future
  • Mid-Level requires 3+ years of experience performing electrical studies
  • Senior Level requires 6+ years of experience performing electrical studies
  • Experience evaluating large scale power systems following industry accepted electrical codes and standards such as NEC, IEEE, IEC, and NERC
  • Proficiency in understanding highly technical topics in the field of electrical engineering using textbooks, white papers, and industry studies as basis and guidance
  • Experience performing studies such as load flow, short circuit, arc flash, equipment protection, sequence of operation, and transient stability
  • Experience developing device setpoints for topics such as overcurrent, over/undervoltage, over/underfrequency, differential protection, distance relaying, or V/Hz protection
  • Ability and willingness to investigate new industry problems and provide creative solutions
  • Experience using power system analysis software such as ETAP, SKM, EMTP-RV, or PSCAD
  • Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams
  • Advanced proficiency in Word and Excel
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills
  • Experience working in the nuclear power industry preferred
  • Experience in power systems design responsibilities is a plus (ex. equipment specification, procurement, implementation, drawing development, etc.)
  • Experience using scripting to manipulate and parse data using Python, VBA, C++, or similar is a plus

Compensation Range
USD $100,000.00 - USD $185,000.00 /Yr.
