Job description

  • JOB RELATIONSHIPS
    • Reports to the Director of Safety & Security Services
  • DEFINITION OF POSITION
    • The Safety & Security Officer is responsible for providing a high level of customer service through proactive patrolling, response to emergency request, and maintaining a safe environment for all patients, visitors, staff and physicians. Officers will assist the department director with implementation of the organization-wide security management program in compliance with federal, state, local and accrediting agencies. Applicants must be highly motivated self-directed individuals with a desire to exceed expectations. High school diploma is required, associates or bachelors degree preferred along with law enforcement or military experience. Officers will complete the IAHSS Basic Security Officer Certification course within the first three months of employment; Pepper Foam Training, ASP Tactical Baton Training, Taser Training, and Non-violent Crisis Intervention Training.

    • Professional
        1. Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
        2. 5 years of Security, Military or Law Enforcement experience preferred.
        3. Completion of the IAHSS Basic Security Officer course within the first year of employment and successful completion of pepper foam training; Crisis Intervention Resolution Training (C.I.R.T.).
        4. Current Heartsaver CPR/AED certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
        5. Must have a valid Drivers license.
