Job description

Description
This position is 24 hours per pay period and is NOT eligible for benefits.
Purpose of Job
This position is responsible for the safety and security of staff, patients, visitors, facilities, and grounds.
Job Functions
  1. Performs essential security functions to protect the assets of Ridgeview Medical Center from loss, damage, and /or unauthorized access.
  2. Patrols and provides escorts at assigned locations.
  3. Fulfill key responsibilities during organization's implementation of emergency plans.
  4. Respond to security emergencies as well as various calls for service and assist as needed.
  5. Monitors critical building security systems such as camera, alarms, access controls, etc.
  6. Maintains and properly operates equipment including radio, emergency vehicle, and assigned use of force equipment.
  7. Cities non-compliance related to administrative policies such as smoking, parking and regulations related to safety and security.
  8. Successfully complete all required training (ASP, MOAB, Taser, ICS 100 & 200, etc.)
  9. Complete daily logs and incident reports.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Work Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 21 years of age to meet Ridgeview's insurability requirements.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
  • Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions in the English language and respond accordingly in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
License/Certifications
  • CPR/First Aid within 6 months of hire
  • Valid MN driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
  • International Association of Healthcare Safety Security (IAHSS) Basic Level
  • Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) (within 6 months of hire)
  • Incident Command System (ICS) 100, 200 (within 1 year of hire)
  • Completion of recognized curriculums (STORM, CPI, etc.)
  • TASER, ASP, Repuls/AIP, Management of Aggressive Behaviors (M.O.A.B)
