Job description

Primoris Energy Services is actively seeking experienced Journeyman Pipefitters for ongoing and upcoming projects in Greenville, NC.
We currently have three active projects on a college campus, with additional work expected to follow — offering steady work and strong continuity.
In this role, you will be responsible for the layout, fabrication, installation, and maintenance of piping systems supporting campus infrastructure, including steam, condensate, and chilled water systems. (Perdiem is offered at $100/day after requirements are met)

Job Description:

This role will involve working within underground steam tunnels, mechanical rooms, and various campus facilities, performing underground tie-ins, demolition of existing piping, and installation of new steel pipe systems. The projects are expected to run through the summer (approximately six months), with a typical schedule of 5x10s plus an additional 8-hour day, offering overtime opportunities. Candidates may start immediately pending onboarding, and project assignments will be determined based on experience and business needs.

General Requirements:

  • Practice and follow all safety rules at all times
  • Follow verbal and written instructions while safely operating hand and power tools
  • Read and interpret isometric drawings and blueprints
  • Layout, fabricate, and install carbon steel, stainless steel, and specialty piping systems
  • Perform butt weld, socket weld, and threaded pipe installation
  • Execute rigging, alignment, and flange make-up
  • Install valves, supports, hangers, and steam systems
  • Perform quality work in accordance with project specifications
  • Report to and assist immediate supervisor as needed
  • Maintain accountability for all tools and materials at the end of each shift
  • Work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team

Qualification Standards:

  • Journeyman-level experience as a Pipefitter
  • Strong knowledge of process piping systems (steam, condensate, chilled water preferred)
  • Ability to read and work from isometric drawings
  • Experience with industrial or campus-style projects preferred
  • NCCER certification preferred but not required

Work Environment:

  • Work will be performed on an active college campus
  • Employees are expected to maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times
  • Work includes outdoor conditions, confined spaces, and elevated work areas
