  • Work closely with commercial operations, sales & marketing, supply chain, production, breeding, trait development, technical service, business representatives and ag solutions advisors to profitably manage a robust product portfolio of seeds and traits; following stewardship and compliance requirements, contributes to the development of commercial strategies and provides product positioning tools for sales.
  • Outline, implement and manage a broad testing program to effectively evaluate BASF soybean varieties for commercial advancement and placement refinement.
  • Technical expert of the product portfolio of seed and traits. High level of competency in product portfolio, product placement, product management, and competitive offerings.
  • Agronomic sales leadership. Lead region in Xitavo portfolio development, forecasting and agronomic support for the execution of territory sales plan with Area Manager and Agronomic Solutions Advisors.
  • Lead agronomic and product training activities targeted at BASF Agronomic Solutions Advisors and Business Representatives, customers, university personnel, and other influential customers.
  • Train Agronomic Solutions Advisors on investigative field techniques and assist with product investigation where necessary.
  • Strong statistical & analytical skills; strengths in experimental design. Provides leadership in data management and analysis as well as development of sales support materials.
  • High potential for career advancement and managerial roles.
  • Knowledge extends well beyond own region, with global practice awareness. Actively engaged in special projects to support growth of seed and trait business in US and/or globally.

  • BS degree in a Biological or Agricultural related science or related with 10 plus years' experience or MS degree with 8 plus years' experience is preferred. PhD Degree with previous experience in sales and customer facing roles are welcome to apply.
  • Minimum three years high level performance (at or above expectations) in previous position in an agriculturally related field
  • Thinks strategically on short-term and long-term business development. Reacts to market developments and future opportunities and makes critical decisions for region.
  • Technical knowledge of crop management practices of soybean in the US, with a strong focus and understanding on herbicide and nematode impact on soybean yield and performance.
  • Communication and human relations skills are necessary to perform the duties of the position, influence decision makers and project a positive BASF technical image.
  • Analytical and creative skills are needed to manage complex databases and deliver strong business support findings.
  • A specialized knowledge of variety testing, statistical analysis and experimental design is required.
  • Proficient computer skills are needed to analyse data, prepare promotional and training literature, and to accomplish written communication tasks.
