Job description

POSITION INFORMATION:
This position is not available to HCS Full-time/Part-time non-exempt employees, Temporary Staff, Substitute Staff, Job Share employees. 
 

Supervisor: Mr.Paul Macklin, Athletics Director Employment Period: Seasonal Employment Status: Temporary Salary: $2,400 Start Date: Spring 2026 Closing Date: Open Until Filled


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In charge of all aspects of the team operation
  • Motivates students and instructs student athletes in game strategies and techniques
  • Provides a positive role model and encourages sport-like behavior
  • Oversees rosters, practices, and games schedules
  • Maintains inventory, issue/receipt of uniforms and other required equipment
  • Organizes transportation
  • Maintains required records, forms, other related data
  • Other related duties as assigned


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of skills and tactics of sport
  • Experience coaching preferred
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • CPR/AED/First Aid training (See NOTE below)
  • Completion of the Coaching Education online course (See NOTE below)
  • Completion of the Concussion Prevention Training (See NOTE below)


NOTE:  These requirements are optional for hiring but required before working with student athletes.  CPR/AED/First Aid and Coaching Education courses are at the applicant/employe expense.  The CPR/AED/First Aid course can be scheduled externally or through Hampton City Schools after selection.  Concussion Prevention Training is a FREE online course.
