Cadence Technologies is seeking exceptional candidates who thrive in fast paced work environments, executing field services for our clients at world class manufacturing companies utilizing sanitary process components for the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries. Team members must be organized, detail oriented, able to work with others as a team, demonstrate strong character and work ethics.
The Service Business Developer is primarily responsible for the growth and commercial development of Cadence services; and reports directly to the Director of Cadence Technologies.
We believe there is a significant opportunity to capitalize on these service opportunities in both established food, beverage & pharmaceutical production facilities. Additional growth opportunities exist with new production facilities and process expansions designed and built as part of the Design Group's projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Development
  • Partner with Design Group leaders and Process Design engineers across the firm to identify service opportunities aligned with Cadence established and supported services.
  • Partner with Design Group leaders in other offices to conduct Lunch and Learns to educate professionals on all Cadence services.
  • Partner with Design Group engineers performing process improvement projects at client sites (staff augmentation) to secure equipment orders associated with their projects.
  • Provide weekly updates to the Director of Cadence on the latest leads and overall sales activities related to services.
  • Track all sales activities in CRM and follow up on leads for all service opportunities.
  • Partner with the Service Project Manager to identify new types of services that can complement Cadence established services.

Marketing
  • Partner with the Service Project Manager and the Design Group marketing team to develop marketing materials for Cadence services.

Technical Knowledge
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the services provided by Cadence and the capabilities of field service technicians.
  • Recommend appropriate service solutions based on equipment and customer needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5-10 years of technical sales experience in maintenance services, service plans, sanitary distributors, food and beverage manufacturing equipment, and/or mechanical equipment (electrical technical sales-only experience will not apply).
  • Documented, measurable sales performance, including consistent attainment/exceeding quota, high-volume activity, and regularly closing new business.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and maintenance needs.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and occasionally automation systems.
  • Awareness of sanitation requirements and food safety standards.
  • Ability to build relationships with maintenance managers, maintenance technicians, and plant managers.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical solutions to varied audiences.
  • Strategic, consultative selling skills to identify client needs and recommend solutions.
  • Technical aptitude to provide product training and support.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills to efficiently support a large territory.
  • Willingness to travel and manage a diverse account portfolio.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree.

Travel
  • Estimated travel of up to 80%, nationally to customer facilities as needed.
