Job description

JOB TITLE: TRAFFIC CONTROL TECHNICIAN


PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Traffic Control Technician position is responsible for material handling, as well as assisting with delivering, installing and manning traffic control activities. This position ensures that plans are followed correctly; work is complete accurately and on-time while following appropriate safety protocols. This role ensures that the customer is satisfied with the overall work product.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Assists with delivering and installing traffic control materials
  • Manage traffic control activities (lane closures, construction barricade set-ups, special event logistics, etc.)
  • Maintains cleanliness and storage of materials
  • Knowledgeable of traffic control requirements for lane closures
  • Responsible for ensuring plans are completed accurately and on-time while following appropriate safety protocols
  • Monitors traffic control requirements for lane closures
  • Responsible for understanding customer needs with the ability to provide expertise on job set-up
  • Periodically conduct weekly safety meetings
  • Performs other tasks and duties as assigned by Management

EDUCATION & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Must have a High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must qualify to drive under the company’s insurance requirements
  • Must have excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to multi-task and work on many different projects at one time
  • Must be able to work independently, and in a team environment, to prioritize and accomplish assigned projects
  • Must be detail oriented and organized
