Title: Barricade Driver
Classification: Non-Exempt

Position Summary:
The Barricade CDL Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient setup, delivery, and retrieval of traffic control equipment. This role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards to ensure compliant work zones. Training is provided to ensure job proficiency.
Essential Functions:
  • Traffic Control Equipment Management:
  • Lift, carry, place, and assemble traffic control equipment.
  • Deliver and pick up barricades and other work area protection setups.
  • Repair, refabricate and install work zone equipment.
Work Zone Formulation:
  • Visit job sites to assess and review traffic situations.
  • Identify areas requiring optimal protection based on speed limits, lane usage, and other factors.
  • Set up traffic control devices (e.g., signs, barricades) in a compliant and safe manner.
  • Conduct drive-through reviews of setups to identify and resolve safety concerns.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of related experience.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • ATSSA certification is a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, road signs, and safety regulations.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform repetitive movements for extended periods.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Assist with inventory management and record keeping processes.
Additional Position Requirements:
  • Flexibility to work overtime, nights, weekends, and in varying weather conditions.
  • Must pass a DOT drug screen, DOT Physical, FMCSA Clearinghouse, and background check.
Work Environment:
  • Primarily outdoor work with exposure to diverse weather conditions.
  • Requires extended periods of standing, sitting, bending, and lifting.
