Key Responsibilities
• Review construction plans, specifications, and project documents to prepare estimates and quantity takeoffs
• Develop preliminary budgets and estimates during General Contractor bidding phases
• Build accurate estimates using Maintenance of Traffic (MHT) plans produced by the Plans Department
• Interpret project drawings, traffic control plans, and scope requirements to determine labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor needs
• Maintain expected quote turnaround times and prioritize estimate requests appropriately
• Respond to customers, sales staff, and internal departments in a timely and professional manner
• Coordinate with Sales, Operations, and the Plans Department to ensure accurate project scoping and successful execution
• Support sales efforts by assisting with pricing strategy, revisions, value engineering, and project discussions
• Follow up on assigned quotes and maintain communication with customers regarding bid status and project updates
• Enter and manage quote activity, follow-up notes, opportunity tracking, and account-related information within Salesforce
• Maintain organized estimate files, bid documentation, and supporting project records
• Communicate resource needs, scheduling concerns, and operational impacts internally when necessary
• Assist in continuous improvement of estimating processes, workflows, and reporting standards
Qualifications & Skills
• Experience in construction estimating, traffic control, roadway construction, or related industries preferred
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and traffic control drawings
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, estimating software, and CRM systems such as Salesforce
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of traffic control, roadway safety standards, or MUTCD/CDOT requirements is a plus
