Job Title: Student Worker - Meyer Center Front Desk/HMIS Assistant - Mission Waco
Job Classification: Community Service, Student

Work Schedule: 10-20 hours/week, Monday through Saturday between 6:00am -5:00pm

Pay Rate: $11.00 - $12.50/hr

Job Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION-- To assist the Meyer Center (Social Services) director and other staff in day-to-day operations. Data entry on HMIS. A Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) is a state-wide information technology system used to collect client-level data and data on the provision of housing and services to homeless individuals and families and people at risk of homelessness, including the Meyer Center Health Clinic
FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION -
• Welcome and register clients in the HMIS Database, obtaining essential information including income, health status, housing, employment, etc.
• Manage, assign, and supervise chores at the center for clients. (i.e.., cleaning, admin, etc.)
• Assist Director with HMIS analytics for monthly reports and to support grant funding applications.
• Scheduling meetings for case workers, counselors, and program directors.
• Obtain and analyze homeless utilization data from Health Clinic to support Center operations.
Position includes direct contact with homeless population.
REQUIRED HARD SKILLS - Data collection, entry, and analysis; experience working with neighbors experiencing homelessness preferred; basic clerical skills with attention to detail
REQUIRED SOFT SKILLS - Good communication skills, hospitality, ability to get along with people from different demographics, encouraging & kind
LEARNING OUTCOMES - Grow in listening, speaking, and creative problem-solving skills. Opportunities to grow in administrative work, organization, resilience, communication, and compassion. Exposure to people with a variety of backgrounds and life experiences.
Hourly Rate: $11-$12.50/hour (depending on new or returning student worker status and/or any recognized special skill level)
