Job Summary

Join the team at Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, where we serve up authentic, slow-smoked Texas BBQ with pride! We are seeking an energetic and dynamic General Manager to lead our restaurant operations with passion and precision. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of restaurant management and catering services, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, efficient food service, and a motivated team. Your leadership will drive operational excellence, uphold food safety standards, and foster a welcoming environment that encourages growth and teamwork. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with extensive restaurant management experience who thrives in fast-paced settings and is committed to delivering outstanding hospitality.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily restaurant operations, including managing staff schedules, supervising food preparation, and ensuring smooth shift transitions.
  • Oversee food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and compliance with health regulations to guarantee a safe dining environment.
  • Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste through effective food management practices.
  • Utilize POS systems to process transactions accurately, handle cash responsibly, and analyze sales data for profit optimization.
  • Train, develop, and motivate team members through ongoing staff training programs and performance feedback to foster a high-performing team.
  • Implement staffing plans by interviewing candidates, onboarding new employees, and managing team schedules to meet operational demands.
  • Drive customer service excellence by addressing guest concerns promptly and maintaining a positive atmosphere that encourages repeat business.
  • Conduct financial analysis including profit and loss assessments, budgeting, and cost control measures to maximize profitability.
  • Supervise kitchen operations, food production processes, catering services, and beer service to ensure quality standards are consistently met.
  • Promote a culture of food safety management and food handling best practices across all departments.
  • Be the face of the restaurant and develop relationships with businesses and key leaders across Pierce County communities.

Qualifications

  • Proven management experience in quick service or fast food restaurants; casual dining or fine dining experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary processes, and kitchen management.
  • Familiarity with POS systems; cash handling experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability in inventory control, food safety management, and food industry regulations.
  • Excellent leadership skills with experience in supervising teams, staff training, interviewing candidates, and managing hospitality teams.
  • Ability to analyze financial data including profit & loss statements and develop strategies for cost control.
  • Exceptional communication skills for managerial communication with staff and customers alike.
  • Experience in managing shift operations within casual dining or banquet environments is preferred.
