Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Spire Calistoga is a multi-generational, family-owned winery that produces wines with authenticity and exceptional pedigree. Estate Name is looking for a Busser to join the team. The Busser is expected to clear and reset tables and bars in a speedy professional and effective manner as guests leave. The Busser is also responsible for the grooming of the entire establishment and its perimeters, as well as supporting servers and service staff with water refills and clearing tables. The Busser/Barback is also responsible for polishing and restocking glassware and silverware at service stations. This is a great entry-level position for those who wish to gain direct-to-consumer experience at a premiere winery.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:  

  • Clear tables after guests leave. Take glasses and tableware to kitchen and place glassware, dishes, etc. in appropriate areas for washing.
  • Promptly clean table tops, chairs and tasting bar. Check floor and clean as required. Reset and arrange tabletops.
  • Prepare and serve pairing plate, boxed lunches and other edibles for guests.
  • Respond appropriately to guest requests, communicate guest requests to servers/manager immediately.
  • Assist with pre/post shift setup/cleanup – including basic maintenance such as paint touch up, watering plants, sweeping sidewalk, etc.
  • Answers phone and assists guests with reservations.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative team atmosphere.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:  

Essential Skills and Experience 

  • Possess a flexible schedule and able to work evenings & weekends
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
  • Must be able to effectively stock wine and non-wine merchandise, set-up and break down structures, tables, etc., and be able to utilize dolly cart and other equipment to assist in moving heavy objects

WAGE TRANSPARENCY: The base pay for this role ranges from $20.00 - $22.00 per hour. Compensation will be determined by candidate experience, skills, and location.
