Baltimore Peninsula, MD

Position Overview

The General Manager is responsible for the overall success of an elevated Tex-Mex restaurant. This role requires a dynamic leader who understands the tasks at hand required to open a new restaurant. The General Manager will take point on hiring for the FOH, drive guest satisfaction, construct new training material(s) in lined with current material, elevate team performance, and financial results while upholding brand standards and community presence in the growing Baltimore Peninsula market.

Duties & Responsibilities Guest Experience & Atmosphere

  • This is an onsite position. Telework is not available.
  • Create a welcoming, energetic, and polished guest experience for both everyday dining and private events.
  • Harness an eye for attention to detail that aligns with the Ownerships expectations.
  • Maintain elevated service standards while managing fast-paced environments.
  • Ensure consistent food quality, beverage execution, cleanliness, and presentation.
  • Actively engage with guests, handle feedback and concerns, and build loyal repeat business.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Recruit, hire, train, and retain a strong management team and hourly staff.
  • Lead by example on the floor during peak service.
  • Establish clear expectations for service, professionalism, and teamwork.
  • Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Create a desirable, high energy, high execution work environment.

Operations & Service Execution

  • Oversee daily front-of-house, bar, and service operations in coordination with kitchen leadership.
  • Write a beverage program in line with current identity, and keeping up with beverage trends and local demand(s).
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and labor controls for both regular service and event-driven volume.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and alcohol service regulations.
  • Obtain or have the ability to obtain TIPS certifications and Health certifications.
  • Maintain and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Financial & Business Performance

  • Manage P&L performance, budgeting, forecasting, and cost controls.
  • Understand and have proven experience with implementing action plans for correction of respective costs associated with the Profit and Loss statements.
  • Monitor labor, food, and beverage costs while maximizing revenue.
  • Collaborate with ownership on pricing strategies, promotions, and special events.

Qualifications

  • Preferred 2+ years of General Manager or senior restaurant leadership experience.
  • Proven experience in upscale casual dining.
  • Strong leadership qualities and skills.
  • Strong financial management and P&L experience.
  • Knowledge of food operations and bar management preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and guest-service skills.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, event-driven environments.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and major sporting events
  • Maryland food safety and alcohol certifications (or ability to obtain)
