What You'll Do

As the Banquet Director, you will provide leadership and oversight for all banquet functions while ensuring every event exceeds guest expectations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead, coach, motivate, and develop the banquet team while fostering a positive, service-focused culture.

  • Ensure all banquet events are executed according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), client expectations, and Westin brand standards.

  • Conduct pre-event meetings to communicate event details, service expectations, timelines, and special requests.

  • Coordinate closely with the Executive Chef, Culinary Team, Catering Sales, and hotel leadership to ensure seamless event execution.

  • Supervise the complete setup, execution, and breakdown of banquet events, ensuring rooms are prepared accurately and efficiently.

  • Monitor food quality, presentation, beverage service, and overall guest satisfaction throughout each event.

  • Respond professionally and promptly to guest requests, concerns, and opportunities for service recovery.

  • Ensure banquet equipment, inventory, linens, and supplies are properly maintained, stored, and accounted for.

  • Maintain labor productivity while ensuring exceptional service standards are achieved.

  • Train associates on service standards, safety procedures, and operational excellence.

  • Ensure compliance with all local health regulations, food safety requirements, alcohol service guidelines, and company policies.

  • Assist with scheduling, payroll approval, inventory management, and departmental administrative responsibilities.

  • Support restaurant, bar, and other Food & Beverage operations as business needs require.

  • Foster teamwork across departments to ensure an exceptional guest experience from beginning to end.

  • Previous leadership experience in banquet, catering, or hotel food and beverage operations preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of banquet service standards and event execution.

  • Ability to lead multiple events simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

  • Outstanding guest service skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development abilities.

  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands.

  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.

  • Proficiency with banquet event orders (BEOs) and hotel operating systems is preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • Frequently stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Regularly bend, kneel, squat, reach, and climb stairs.
