Job description

Pay Range: $152,149.00 - $202,858.00Manage/oversee/direct all responsibilities associated with viable commercial lending portfolio as directed by Senior Management and Board of Directors. Assist in high-level development of long-term commercial lending strategies at NBT and oversee the implementation of those strategies. Oversees and develops staff required to meet commercial lending initiatives. Develops related business plans, budgets and training schedules. Participates in new business development, cross-sell initiatives, new related products and services.

Education and Experience:

  • 4 year degree or related experience 10 years Commercial Lending Experience 5 years of Management experience

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Understanding of economics, general business/commercial finance and accounting
  • Legal knowledge of lending practices
  • Ability to use various computer programs and bank accounting system
  • Understanding of Bank policies and appropriate Federal and State regulations pertinent to Commercial Lending.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong credit and analytical skills

Unique Job Characteristics and Requirements:

  • Must be visible within the public eye
  • Travel less than 50%
  • Driver's License required
  • Reliable transportation required

Tasks Performed:

  • 60% Manage the regional loan portfolio to meet established growth, quality and profitability standards. Promote the development of Non-Margin Business within the Region including deposits, Trust and Financial Services. Adhere to loan policy and manages the total loan function to assure that a minimum "Satisfactory" Administration and Loan Quality rating is assigned by Loan Review.
  • 20% Manage the assigned lenders within the Region approving loans and providing the support necessary to promote lender skills.
  • 10% Train, mentor, develop and oversee appropriate staff. Conduct performance reviews. Work with staff to develop individual goals.
  • 5% Actively contributes to the Strategic Planning/Monthly Budget Process and monitors the operating results to control expenses and enhance revenue opportunities.
  • 5% Other duties as assigned

  • Communicate effectively with internal and/or external customers
  • Stationary 75% of time or greater
  • Move Objects to Maximum 10 lbs
