Business Banking Officer II
Canandaigua National Bank & Trust
Location: Monroe County


What does a Business Banking Officer at Canandaigua National Bank do?

A Business Banking Officer at CNB works independently and in conjunction with Community Offices to identify opportunities to grow and retain business. The Business Banking Officer will be assigned a group of branches within the CNB footprint and will be responsible for achieving quarterly personal sales goals, including acquiring new business and achieving annual net new closed commercial loan production. The Business Banking Officer will also be assigned a small commercial loan portfolio to manage and grow.

What competencies are needed to be successful in this role?

  • A B.S. or B.A. degree in Business, or related field required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a sales and service.
  • Experience in a business banking or commercial lending required.

What does a successful candidate in this position look like?

  • Assigned to four to six assigned branch offices, proactively reaches out to businesses within the branch footprint alongside branch staff or individually (i.e., expectation is that the branch “book of business” be developed/expanded). A Business Banker is not limited to the areas surrounding their assigned offices and can accept a referral anywhere in our market.
  • Utilize Centers of Influence in our footprint to bring new business opportunities to CNB.
  • Assist Branch Manager and staff with all components of lending, including but not limited to application intake, structure, rate, documentation, closing and functionality of internal processes and systems.
  • Along with Branch management make calls to existing clients and prospects with regards to Canandaigua National Bank products and services.
  • Attend outside events as a representative of Canandaigua National Bank and the Business Banking Unit.
  • Coordinate and present at outside training opportunities, such Small Business Alliance (SBA) Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) events, alongside other Line of Business partners.
  • Identify prospects on Automated Clearing House (ACH) and Remote Deposit Capture (RDC) origination products and refer to internal commercial contact for consultation and facilitation.
  • Partners with co-workers across all lines of business to identify synergy opportunities.
  • Provide origination services for commercial mortgage, business start-up and SBA loans.
  • Coordinates loan closings with Relationship Managers.
  • Actively manages client portfolio as assigned by the Business Banking Sales Manager.

Compensation range- $94,000 - $110,000
