Position Summary:
The IT Network Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organization's network infrastructure to ensure security, reliability, and optimal performance. This role focuses on maintaining standards, improving systems, and supporting business continuity.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and manage enterprise network systems, including firewalls, switches, routers, VPN appliances, wireless, and voice networks.
• Analyze network requirements and contribute to architecture design, integration, and installation.
• Strong understanding of command-line interface (CLI) and graphical-user interface (GUI) when managing network devices.
• Expert in network monitoring tools that oversee SD-WAN network including its devices, appliances and circuits.
• Ability to manage critical bank networking vendors and stay on top of in critical up-time and/or performance situations.
• Manage and maintain current bank network and networking solutions for optimal performance, security and compliance.
• Develop and maintain standards for network configurations, security, and service delivery.
• Assist in leading the bank IT related Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity and Pandemic Testing when required.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to support staff.
• Create procedures and instructions for internal guidance as needed.
• Ensure continuous availability and performance of all network components.
• Monitor network health and proactively address performance issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve all network problems.
• Support audit and compliance efforts by providing documentation and mitigating security findings.
• Review penetration test results and implement corrective measures.
• Respond to network alerts and outages promptly, including after-hours support.
• Collaborate with IT teams to maintain secure and efficient systems.
Technical Skills
• Networking Protocols: TCP/IP, UDP, OSPF, BGP, TLS, DNS, DHCP.
• Hardware & Infrastructure: Enterprise-grade switches, routers, firewalls (Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto), wireless access points.
• Security: VPN technologies, intrusion detection/prevention systems, firewall rule management.
• Cloud & Virtualization: Azure/AWS networking, SD-WAN, VMware, Hyper-V.
• Monitoring & Tools: SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG, Wireshark.
• Voice & Collaboration: VoIP systems and unified communications platforms.
• Automation & Scripting: PowerShell, Python for network automation.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 7-10 years of experience in network administration and management.
• Experience in financial services or banking industry.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI DSS, FFIEC, FDIC, OCC).
• Proven track record in designing and maintaining enterprise-level networks.
• Cisco: CCNA/CCNP/CCIE or equivalent.
