Job Summary
A Small Business Lending (SBL) Sales Team Leader acts as an owner of the SBL product as well as a consultant and referral resource to team members in Personal Banking who originate or manage business clients with lending relationships. The SBL Sales Team Leader will actively assist with new business development by jointly calling with Branch Managers and Personal Bankers on business loan clients or prospects to help facilitate new SBL opportunities and manage existing relationships. In addition, they will participate in business development by soliciting new business development under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer.


Primary Responsibilities
• Accountable to develop our Branch Managers and Personal Bankers existing Business Banking portfolio of loan sizes under $500k in lending exposure.
• Generate new SBL loan applications under $500k through referrals, joint calling with branch team members, and leveraging referral / COI sources.
• Accountable to accept and manage referrals from branch teams that include more sophisticated or complex SBL applications (including business construction loans, start-up business loans, business change of ownership applications, etc.).
• Responsible for working with Branch Managers and Personal Bankers to manage our customers’ relationships around profitability and portfolio risk while responsible for profitable growth of the under 500k portfolio.
• Meet with business owners to build strong relationships.
• Identify needs and recommend product solutions.
• Partner with Personal Banking to create and deliver customer solutions.
• Partner with Credit and Loan Documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness of credit packages according to policy.
• Generate Term Sheets for Clients to review.
• Responsible for consulting on credit and lending with Relationship Officers, Branch Managers, and Personal Bankers who originate SBL applications or manage business clients.
• Accountable to learn business products that encompass a full relationship including both business and personal deposit as well as treasury management services.
• Accountable to participate in Anthony Cole Sales training as well as other relationship management enrichment training courses as offered by the Chief Operating Officer or their designee.
• Accountable to develop and train Branch Managers and Personal Bankers on credit and lending philosophies.
• Responsible for complying with Bank’s intention to use the SBL approval system and be effective on loan relationship management with clients.

How You'll Spend Your Time
• Call on Small Business Banking accounts to develop new relationships with prospective clients, cross-sell products, and services, and retain existing clients.
• Visit branches within the Oxford Bank Personal Banking network to coach, support, and garner referrals from branch-based colleagues.
• Participate in community and professional activities to enhance our image and expand your network of business contacts for development of new business.
• Partner with Credit & Loan Documentation on the approval, documentation, and booking processes. Analyzing and evaluating credit requests, writing loan commitments, looking for opportunities to mitigate risk concerns, and issuing declinations.

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience and demonstrated success in Small Business Lending preferred.
