Job description

Description:

About Sun Title

Sun Title Agency of Michigan is Michigan’s relationship-first title insurance agency operating across 11 markets and trusted by commercial lenders, attorneys, developers, and investors to close their most important transactions. We are the "YES" company and when others hit roadblocks, we find solutions. Our commercial reputation is built on the quality of our people and the relationships that bring clients back every time.

We are not looking for a transactional rep who chases volume. We are looking for a trusted advisor who becomes indispensable to the lending teams they serve and someone who shows up after the deal closes and earns the kind of loyalty that turns a client into a champion. If you measure your success by whether your lenders couldn’t imagine closing without you, this role was built for you.

The Role

The Commercial Account Executive owns new business development and account management for Sun Title’s commercial lending clients across West and Southwest Michigan. Your market is commercial lenders including banks, credit unions, private and portfolio lenders, and commercial real estate lending groups. Half of your world is building new lending relationships. The other half is deepening and protecting the lenders who already trust Sun Title to close their most important deals. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.

You are not starting from   zero. Sun Title has strong brand recognition across West and Southwest   Michigan commercial real estate markets. You are inheriting a respected   reputation and experienced Commercial Escrow Officers who deliver exceptional   service. Your job is to grow the lending book, deepen the relationships we   already have, and become the title partner lenders call when they have a   question.

What You’ll Do

New Business Development

• Identify, prospect, and convert new commercial lending relationships across West and Southwest Michigan including banks, credit unions, private and portfolio lenders, and CRE lending groups

• Execute a structured prospecting plan with defined outreach cadences and conversion targets

• Represent Sun Title at banking association meetings and commercial lending industry events

• Conduct discovery meetings that uncover what a lending team actually needs and articulate Sun Title’s value proposition with confidence

Account Management

• Serve as the primary relationship manager for Sun Title’s existing commercial lender portfolio

• Act as the internal client advocate, working alongside Commercial Escrow Officers to ensure every transaction exceeds expectations

• Grow wallet share with existing clients

Lending Market Expertise

• Build working fluency in commercial loan workflows, timelines, and the title requirements lenders care about including loan policy coverage, endorsements, survey and zoning

• Be the client’s first point of contact on title questions during underwriting, pulling in Commercial Escrow Officers for technical answers

Pipeline & Reporting

• Maintain a complete, current CRM pipeline that tells a clear story about activity, conversion, and account health

• Report regularly to the Director of Operations on pipeline health, new lender activity, and KPI progress

Requirements:

Required

• 3+ years of B2B sales, business development, or account management experience with a demonstrated track record

• Commercial lending experience

• Strong relationship management skills to enable retention, growth and attraction of relationships

• Exceptional communication skills; comfortable with commercial lenders, credit officers, loan operations teams, and in-house counsel

• CRM discipline so that your pipeline is always current and complete

• Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation

Preferred

• Existing relationships with commercial lending decision-makers in West or Southwest Michigan

• Familiarity with commercial lending transaction types (acquisition, construction, refinance, SBA, 1031 exchange)

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Real Estate, or related field

Who You Are

Sun Title’s culture is built on genuine care and solutions-first thinking. The right person will naturally embody:

• Relationship-first, always as you stay in touch because you want to, not because a CRM told you to

• Disciplined prospector that understands a full account book is never an excuse to stop pursuing new relationships

• Trusted within 30 minutes with the credibility and warmth that clients feel immediately

• Resilient as rejection doesn’t define you; the next relationship does

• YES! mindset that finds a way for every client, every time

Benefits

• Base salary

• Performance Bonus Program tied to production KPIs up to $20,000 per year

• Company bonus program

• 401(k) with employer match | Paid vacation and paid holidays

• Medical: Priority Health (3 plans, including HSA-eligible) | HSA with $1,000 employer match

• Dental: Delta Dental | Vision: EyeMed

• Employer-paid STD, LTD & Basic Life/AD&D | Voluntary Life & Critical Illness

• Employee Assistance Program (EAP) through Mutual of Omaha
