Job description

The Equity Technology team at BAM is responsible for building and supporting a world-class suite of tools for our flagship Fundamental Equities business. The ideal candidate has a passion for solving business problems with technology, is obsessed with developing high-performance software that provides incredible user experiences and is eager to learn about the intersection of finance and technology. This growing suite of tools spans across the investment lifecycle, including research, idea generation, portfolio construction, quantitative research, trading, and compliance.
Role Overview:
  • Work closely with portfolio managers, quantitative researchers, risk teams, and technology teams to deliver cutting-edge innovative software solutions that are critical to the success of portfolio manager teams
  • Collaborate in a fast-paced team environment to understand, engineer, and deliver on business requirements
  • Strike a balance along the dimensions of feasibility, stability, scalability, and time-to-market when delivering solutions
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy high-performance risk analytics services and user-facing applications, primarily using C#/.NET, Python, gRPC, and React
  • Own the engineering design and implementation of features for equity factor-risk analytics services, with a focus on scalability and performance
  • Develop robust validation, reconciliation, and monitoring frameworks to ensure risk calculations are accurate, explainable, and consistent across datasets and downstream consumers
  • Design and optimize .NET/C# services for efficiency and scale, with attention to memory usage, parallel processing, profiling, and service architecture
  • Lead technical design discussions, mentor other engineers, and drive delivery of complex projects from requirements through release and subsequent production support
  • Make pragmatic architecture decisions that balance analytical accuracy, system complexity, operational resilience, and time-to-market
  • Leverage the latest AI-assisted development tooling to improve engineering productivity, while maintaining a strong focus on well-designed, well-architected, maintainable, and clear code
  • Leverage a variety of data management and analytics platforms, including Snowflake and ClickHouse

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science or closely related field
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Experience with finance, especially equities, strongly preferred
  • Deep expertise in an object-oriented programming language - one must be C# or Java
  • Experience with Python, AWS, MSSQL, Snowflake, ClickHouse
