Production Line Worker – Full Time
Northbrook, IL

Highland Baking Company is seeking motivated and dependable candidates to join our Production Team at our Northbrook, IL, location.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Production Line Worker, you will support daily bakery production operations by preparing products, operating equipment, and ensuring all products meet Highland Baking Company’s quality and food safety standards. This role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

The regular work schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays based on production needs.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate and maintain production machines while inspecting and selecting products.
  • Clean and organize the production area.
  • Check the quality of prepared products.
  • Receive and place dough onto baking trays.
  • Place baking trays with dough onto bakery racks.
  • Push full bakery racks into proof boxes.
  • Place bakery trays with dough onto the oven conveyor belt.
  • Set up topping dispensers when required for specific products.
  • Receive empty trays from the oven conveyor, clean trays, and arrange them on pallets for reuse.
  • Assist Mixing Employees with lifting ingredient containers into mixers.
  • Follow all food safety, quality, and sanitation procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLSET:

  • Responsible for promptly reporting any food safety issues to supervisors or management.
  • Knowledge of Highland Baking Company products preferred.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including cGMPs (Current Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
  • Understanding of the company's Color Coding Policies.
  • Ability to learn and operate a variety of production machines and equipment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Able to follow and execute instructions accurately.
  • Must be accurate, patient, careful, responsible, quick, and alert.
  • Dedicated to achieving company and departmental goals.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling throughout the workday. Employees must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work extended hours as needed.

SCHEDULE:

  • Monday through Friday
  • Occasional Saturdays as needed
