This role is responsible for assisting with staff supervision, product quality, customer service, inventory control, and maintaining food safety and sanitation standards. The Assistant Bakery Manager helps ensure efficient operations, attractive product presentation, and a positive shopping experience for customers.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Production
  • Assist in planning, preparing, and executing daily bakery production schedules
  • Ensure bakery products meet company quality, freshness, and presentation standards
  • Monitor product pricing, labeling, stocking, and rotation (FIFO)
  • Help maintain clean, organized, and safe bakery workspaces and displays

Team Leadership & Training
  • Support hiring, training, coaching, and scheduling of bakery associates
  • Supervise employees during shifts and provide guidance and feedback
  • Enforce company policies, procedures, and food safety regulations
  • Assist with performance evaluations and corrective actions as needed

Customer Service
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, special orders, and concerns
  • Resolve customer issues promptly and professionally
  • Promote bakery items, seasonal products, and store programs

Inventory & Merchandising
  • Assist with ordering supplies, ingredients, and finished goods
