Position Summary

St. Paul Elder Services is seeking a dependable and motivated Baker / Cook to join our Culinary Services team. In this role, you will prepare fresh baked goods for resident breakfasts and desserts while also assisting with large-batch meal preparation to provide nutritious, high-quality meals for the seniors we serve.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who enjoys working independently as well as collaboratively with the culinary team. Previous baking or cooking experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right individual who is passionate about food quality and exceptional resident service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare fresh baked goods for resident breakfasts and desserts.
  • Prepare large-batch meals in accordance with standardized recipes and production schedules.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Properly operate and maintain kitchen and bakery equipment.
  • Assist with food preparation, meal service, and kitchen organization.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen and bakery work environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the Culinary Services team to ensure timely meal service.
  • Follow all organizational policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to residents, families, and fellow team members.
Required Qualifications
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to quality, cleanliness, and food safety.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine lifting associated with food preparation.
