Job Summary


Sweet Treets Bakery is looking for a hands-on Bakery Production Assistant to support the daily production of our cakes, cookies, cupcakes, and specialty desserts. This role includes everything from preparing batters, frostings, and fillings to baking, stacking, wrapping, and finishing products.


This is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with their hands, thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, and takes pride in producing consistent, high-quality products.


Reports to: Kitchen Manager / Owner
Job Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities


Frostings & Fillings

  • Prepare batches of buttercream
  • Prepare colored buttercreams according to specifications
  • Make cream cheese frosting
  • Make royal icing
  • Prepare strawberry and raspberry jams
  • Follow recipes, measurements, and batch instructions consistently
Cookies
  • Bake cookies each morning as an AM shift priority
  • Prepare batches of cookie dough
  • Scoop and portion cookie dough
  • Maintain consistency in size, quality, and bake times
Cakes & Cupcakes
  • Prepare cake batters
  • Bake and prepare cupcakes
  • Prepare cake jars
  • Stack cakes
  • Wrap and cut cakes
  • Assist with general cake and bakery production as needed
Qualifications
  • Prior kitchen, bakery, or food production experience preferred
  • Comfortable following recipes and batch instructions precisely
  • Able to work early morning hours
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Able to work efficiently as part of a small team
  • Able to maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Food Handler Certification or willingness to obtain one
Physical Requirements
  • Able to stand for extended periods
  • Able to lift and carry mixing bowls, ingredient bags, cake tiers, and other production materials
  • Comfortable working around ovens, mixers, and other commercial kitchen equipment
  • Able to perform repetitive kitchen and production tasks throughout the shift
Compensation & Benefits
  • Pay: $15-18 per hour
  • Schedule: Early morning availability required 5:00 AM to 1 or 2:00PM
  • Pay: $15 to 18 per hour
  • Benefits: 80 hours of PTO to be used for vacation or sick time
