Operating out of our 4,000 square foot bakery facility, we take pride in creating the most sumptuous cheesecakes and cookies. Serving a diverse clientele, including food services, retailers, and airlines, Newport Bakers excels in quality assurance both for our partner brands and our proprietary lines. As we continue on our trajectory of growth, we are in search of individuals who share our dedication to excellence in the world of baking.
Position Overview:

The Bakery Production Lead is responsible for overseeing the baking process from start to finish, ensuring both the highest quality of products and the efficiency of production. This role encompasses a range of duties from ingredient scaling, machinery operation, ensuring product quality, and meeting strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare for the day’s production by reassembling equipment used from the previous shift and ensuring that machinery for the current shift is ready for use, and troubleshooting equipment as needed.
Document and record all lot codes of scaled ingredients to maintain a clear traceability.
Mix ingredients in accordance with the set formula and procedures.
Help in all aspects of production (ingredient receiving, scaling, mixing, operating machinery, troubleshooting, packaging, and palletizing.)
Conduct basic Quality Assurance (QA) checks of the finished product, evaluating aspects like bake time sufficiency, visual appeal, taste, and overall quality.
Mechanically savvy to be able to troubleshoot equipment in a pinch.
Complete all necessary production paperwork in a timely and organized manner.
Spot clean work areas to ensure cleanliness and orderliness throughout the shift.
Manage production schedule and forecast ingredient ordering
Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a bakery or food production environment.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines ensuring product is able to be delivered to clients
  • Skills in intermediate machinery assembly and operation and cleaning
  • Strong supervisory skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a high-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of food safety standards and best practices.
