Nino Salvaggio is currently looking for an Assistant Commissary Bakery Manager for our Troy location to work overnight.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist in directing and supervising all functions and activities of the bakery, including production, scoring, gross profit, quality and labor goals established for the department.
  • Assist with directing workflow within the bakery and coordinate activities involved with production.
  • Assist with the implementation of new recipes and products.
  • Develop associates within departments through training, supervision, delegation and appropriate rewards and discipline.
  • Train and supervise associates on the safe and proper usage of all equipment in the department.
  • Follow approved procedures for price marking, dating and restocking cases to ensure quality and product rotation.
  • Check and verify department merchandise received to ensure that all items listed on vendor invoices are delivered according to quality standards.
  • Assist Commissary Manager with ordering and inventory control to ensure freshness, product quality.
  • Maintain good communications throughout the organization.
  • Ensure favorable department image by emphasizing a clean, sanitary, attractive and friendly department.
  • Assist with department reports, administrative duties, surveys and paperwork, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED, required.
  • Six months related baking experience, required.
  • Previous management experience required.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to work overnights and weekends. (Shifts can begin as early as 5pm)
  • Ability to work in and between extreme cold, wet, humid or hot conditions.
  • Ability to convert measurements as needed to properly prepare recipes.
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for 8 or more hour periods.
  • Ability to multitask, maintain a positive attitude, problem solve.

Compensation is based on experience. Position works around 50 hours per week.
