ASSET BASED FINANCE & STRUCTURED CREDIT GROUP OVERVIEW

Bain Capital Credit has a large and growing Asset Based Finance (ABF) platform. Bain Capital Credit began investing in Structured Credit in 1999 as one of its original businesses and has expanded to become a leading ABF and Structured Credit investor. Today, Bain Capital Credit invests in a range of ABF sectors, including private ABF (residential, commercial, digital infrastructure, transportation, esoteric assets) and public investments in CLOs, RMBS, CMBS, and ABS. These are accessed through single-sector and multi-asset vehicles, and Bain Capital Credit will continue to expand its ABF product suite.

Bain Capital Credit is seeking a Product Specialist (Vice President) to support the Asset Based Finance team in our Boston office.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and oversee the design and maintenance of marketing collateral, including pitchbooks, investor reporting, fund profiles, website content, etc.
  • Communicate investment strategies and fund updates internally and externally
  • Translate complex asset-backed and structured credit strategies (among others) into clear, compelling investor messaging
  • Liaise with global distribution sales team in product positioning and client engagement for fundraising
  • Writing investment commentaries for strategy positioning, performance, markets, etc.
  • Preparation and monitoring of competitor analyses across asset-based finance sectors
  • Respond in a timely manner to ad hoc client and prospect requests
  • Conduct portfolio and performance analytics to support investor discussions and fundraising efforts
  • Coordination with the global distribution sales team and investment teams to schedule and plan investor meetings
  • Develop and maintain relationships across internal stakeholders, including global distribution sales teams, investment teams, legal, compliance, accounting and operations
  • Leverage data analytics and AI tools to enhance investor reporting, competitive intelligence, and workflow efficiency

Qualifications:

  • Strong academic credentials (BS/BA from highly regarded institution) and a demonstrated track record of successful work experience
  • 8-10+ years' experience with an investment management firm, investment consultant, or investment bank
  • Experience with credit funds, with preference for asset-based finance and structured credit knowledge
  • Self-starter with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong organizational skills and relationship-building and ability to work collaboratively in team environments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish priorities, managing multiple tasks and meeting time-sensitive deadlines
  • Preference for strong analytical capabilities with proficiency in AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Glean, etc.) and coding

Compensation:

Expected Annual Base Salary $170,000 - $200,000

Actual base salary will be determined by a wide range of factors including but not limited to role, function, level, experience, qualifications and geographic location. In addition to a competitive base salary, this position may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based upon factors such as individual impact, team and firm performance.
