DESCRIPTION OF JOB SCOPE
Machine Operator/Heavy Labor Worker is an employee in the production department. This role is member to our production team and is responsible to perform manual and heavy labor when necessary and, operate company equipment such as bagger, scales, printers, etc. needed to process with the highest standards of food quality. The employee is required to notify any issues regarding food safety and general safety awareness.
Positions: Machine Operator/Heavy Labor
DESCRIPTION OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Adhere to all Classic Salads Food Safety and GMP Policies, including Basic Policies (TRN-0101, TRN-102, TRN-103. TRN-104. TRN-105. TRN-1061.
  2. Complete Classic Salads Standard Production Procedures
  3. Use proper lifting and folding boxes techniques
  4. Report all deficiencies to management.
  5. Work overtime and weekends and holidays if necessary.
  6. Move product and/or materials manually
  7. Report all injuries and incidents big or small
  8. Demonstrate attention to detail (bag seals, date codes, weights, etc)
  9. Report any foreign objects while performing duties to immediate supervisor.
  10. Communicate with management and/or other employees
  11. Be conscious to reduce material spoilage.
  12. Able to work in a cold wet environment 34-36 ยฐF
  13. Work/cross-train in other areas
  14. Operate company's equipment ( baggers, scales, spin dryers, feed belts, box coders, etc.)
  15. Calibrate scales daily
  16. Team lift film roll stock 50-150 lbs
  17. Keep work area clean
  18. Maintain correct weights and measurements according to product specification
  19. Maintain correct coding according to product specifications
  20. Stay in assigned work area
  21. Ability to operate a manual pallet jack
  22. Stack and Lift raw and finished product containers/boxes 10-50 lbs occasionally
  23. Team lift garbage cans 10-70 lbs occasionally
  24. Lift empty pallets 45-85 Lbs occasionally
  25. Communicate with production supervisor, QC department, and data entry
  26. Wrap and palletize finished product occasionally
  27. Mark cartons and label according to instructions occasionally
  28. Complete daily reports
  29. Follow directions regarding product mixes and recipes
  30. Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): bump cap, hearing protection, hair net, beard net, eye protection (goggles), face shield, gloves, slip-resistant shoes, wet/rain suit, apron, etc.
  31. Be aware of surroundings due to forklift traffic

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Experience of work in a similar environment preferred. Able to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work with fast-changing priorities and keep up with workflow. Work in a team effort environment. Able to follow simple instructions. Demonstrated knowledge or experience operating packing equipment. Basic math skills. Demonstrate knowledge or experience working with produce or similar field. Bilingual (English, Spanish) preferred. Relocate to Yuma Az./Royal Oaks Ca. during seasonal rotation.
